Ross Dress For Less

I am not sure how long I have been a Ross Dress for Less shopper but my guess is ever since their arrival in the Birmingham, AL area. I can honestly say that I have been shopping there since the days when people were ashamed to admit they shopped at Ross.

I recall a particular conversation that I once heard. Someone had complimented their friend’s outfit. The response was that she got it at their “spot.” I cannot say for certain, but at the time I felt sure that she was referring to Ross Dress for Less and did not want anyone else to know she (they) shopped there. If that was the case, I did not get it then and I still do not get it if anyone still feels that way now.

I can also remember telling a friend about Ross. She visited a nearby store and said that she could not find anything. Me on the otherhand have never been to Ross Dress for Less without finding something. I can start at one end of a rack and by the time I reach the other end, I’ve got an armful of clothes to try on. Make no mistake, the store is not for everyone. and this is not a diss post. Look, I am not a Temu shopper and cannot imagine that changing. Not because I’m shame though. In all honesty once I could not get past that spinning wheel, Temu was history.

Funny thing is that I imagine that people that did not want to admit that they shopped at Ross are now shopping at Ross for whatever reason. My guess is that the economy has everyone searching for a bargain. Or it could be that they got over that shame years ago. Whatever the reason, I am glad they have reconsidered because Ross Dress for Less has something for everyone. It does not have to be clothes. Ross has household goods such as kitchen supplies, artwork, home decor, personal items and so much more.

Personally, the store doesn’t matter to me. Wherever I go, if I see something, like it, and want to purchase it, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. By the way, if you have not guessed it, the dress I am wearing in this post is from Ross Dress for Less. I bought it in 2025, and I have only worn it once. But you can bet that I am going to be sporting it much more this year and for as long as it stays in good condition. When I shop at Ross I am headed straight to the dress rack, then tops, I browse handbags and I do not leave without checking out home decor items.

So, until next time, if you have never been to a Ross store, visit one near you and simply browse around front to back, side to side and all four corners. You do not have to buy anything, just peruse the store and next time you have a need or want for something, maybe you will give Ross a chance.
