Success: You Get to Define Your Own

Our Definitions of Success May be Different

How do you define Success

How do you define Success

People often refer to success as it relates to levels of business achievement.  Perhaps they may relate it to some high profile person deemed to be successful.  While it may be true that these people are successful, the real question is “by whose definition?”

Just because you may not measure up to someone else’s definition, does not mean that you are any less successful.  It takes small steps to make big gains.  Every step of the way that puts you closer to your goal is indeed a success.

If you think of measures of success as being milestones rather than status, then the stigma of being unsuccessful will take a backseat to incremental successes as they occur.  If we all think of measures of success as being milestones, perhaps far less people will consider themselves failures.  The bonus then becomes that they will continue to attempt and achieve incremental levels of their desired goals.  Thereby deeming themselves successful in their own right.

Do not let anyone else define success in your life.  You are the CEO of YOU.  You chose the life you desire to live and have and you pursue it with passion and you honor the successes along the way.

Zig Ziglar says “Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be. If we do our best, we are a success.”

Choose today to recognize and acknowledge and give honor to your own success story. You’ve lived it, learned it and earned it.  What’s more is that is ain’t over yet.
