No Lack

No Lack

If you took a survey, of all you have and weighed it against what you don’t have – what would be the result?  The haves should only consist of life’s necessities: a place to live, a running car, reasonable health, a job, enough money to sustain you (bills and food).

In a world where the message is always…more, more, more we can easily find ourselves consumed with the notion that more is better.  I heard it said once that a man prayed for a larger house with a bigger yard, but would not keep the yard cut that he had.   God reminds us in his Word –

Matthew 25:23 …‘Well done, good and faithful servant!

You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things….

It amazes me that even when we aren’t the best stewards of what we’ve been given, we are still blessed enough and sometimes more than enough!

Recently, I walked around my house and took a survey of all I had and realized that I Lack Nothing!

As a matter-of-fact, I have an over-abundance of stuff that hinges on the absurd!

I say absurd because one day, I came home from work to find that my closet clothes rack had fallen from the weight of over-abundance. Those who know me know “my thing” (clothes, shoes and handbags)!  At that very moment, I stopped and shouted a loud – “Thank-You-Lord”.  I am sure the neighbors heard me.  Here’s another scripture reference that was written just for me…

Luke 22:35  Then Jesus asked them (me), “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they (I) answered”.

I promise, if you would just look around your home and your life, you too will find that you actually have all you really need.

Our Wants – is another blog for another time!
