All Fired Up: That’s What Joy Will Do

Joy That Sets the World Ablaze

Joy Has Everything to Do With It

Joy Has Everything to Do With It

Have you ever had those days where you feel you can conquer the world and are filled with unspeakable joy.  You know that feeling of having a fire lit under your feet, bursting energy, an unbridled zest for life,  and every which way you turn, is another reason to be gleeful?  You feel like you are on top of the world and never want that feeling to end and in the moment, it doesn’t seem like it ever will.   As glorious as you may feel, sometimes the flame attempts to  diminish with the slightest breeze.  Notice that I said “attempt.”

Keeping the Fire Lit

It’s possible to keep that fire lit long term or even better, eternally.   Sometimes a situation will come along and derail your euphoria. That’s okay you can handle it.  Stuff happens remember? The best time to combat negative situations is at the onset of a potential problem, setback or temporary interruption.  You have to decide right then and there to keep that fire lit.  You have to acknowledge the issue at hand, deal with it and get back to the business of bursting with joy.  In other words “Hit the Reset Button” without delay.

Gratitude:  The Fuel That Flames the Fire

Whatever the catalyst was that lit the fire, make it a point to focus on that thing and then build on it. Identify other areas or things than can enhance your current state of happiness in order to keep the fire lit?   On the top of that list should be gratitude.  Think of all of the things for which you are grateful.  Few things can warm the heart in the same way as gratitude.  If you can do that daily and with all sincerity, there isn’t any reason in the world that you ever have to come off of that unbridled high.

Now tell me, what are you most sincerely grateful for?

“Every day presents opportunity to hit The reset button on your life.”  Charita Cadenhead
