Your Business is Not About You
Here is something for you to think about: If the only person that is served by your business is YOU, then you shouldn’t be in business. If the ONLY question you have is how you can benefit from your own business, then you probably shouldn’t be in business. No matter what business you’re in, the primary question is ALWAYS, “how will people benefit from my product or service?” As long as you put your clients or customers FIRST, you will be richly rewarded in more ways that you can count. As soon as you shift the focus off of yourself, only then can you begin to grow, prosper and reap the benefits of what’s in it for you, and all without focusing on yourself.
It’s Always About the Benefit to Others
As a life coach, my business practice revolves around helping people. What do I do as a life coach? “I help people gain razor sharp focus on the steps that they need to take to reach their goals.” What the client needs help with, is NEVER about me or what I want. It is always about the client and I just absolutely love that about what I do. With my whole heart, I believe that is my purpose in life and it just does not get any better than that.
What Business Are You In?
A lot of people are in business but don’t really know what business they are in. On that note, you first have to gain clarity on that, before you can identify your audience and how they will benefit from your product or service.
Once you state with absolute clarity what it is that you do, people can identify with how your product or service will benefit them. And that is what it’s all about. Your business is not about “you” but about “them” and the sooner you learn that lesson, life only begins to get better.
