Hurry Up and Slow Down

Much of What You Do Can Wait

Everybody’s in a hurry these days.  Messages must be instant.  People don’t want to talk, instead they want to chat.  Handwritten letters have been replaced by the text message on the go.  Phone calls have been replaced with a quick status update on Facebook.

Instant, quick, fast and in hurry, but where is everybody going in such a hurry?  Sometimes instead of hurrying to get nowhere fast, we need to slow down and get there faster.

I get like that on occasion.  I get so busy and so much in a hurry until I really can’t think straight.  Hours and days will have passed me by and I can’t think of a single thing that I’ve accomplished.  Sound familiar?  I hope it doesn’t but my guess is that it probably sounds all too familiar.

What’s Your Hurry? Scale Down and Accomplish More

That may be easier said than done for some people, but it may be time for a little housekeeping of your physical as well as your mental space.  Personally physical clutter and mental clutter have the exact same affect on me.  They both serve to stifle any progress that I need to make. If ever there was a time to hit the “Reset Button on Your Life” it is when you have too much on your plate.

Hurry up and wait

Hurry Up and Wait

Take some time and evaluate what has to be done now and what can be done later.  You might even find that you eliminate some “stuff” from the list permanently.  If you can just imagine scaling down that list as you’re reading this post, you’ll probably begin narrowing your focus on the spot.

Do yourself a favor:  Hurry up and wait.
