Getting Back to Center

Sometimes time slips by us so fast that we don’t realize that we’ve somehow have gotten off center.  Chores and tasks have piled up and we find ourselves caught up in a bevy of disorientation because we’ve fallen behind in completing said tasks.  Before you know it, days and weeks have passed by before we stop in our tracks and just say “wait a minute, something has to give.”

I’m a classic case of having fallen of center.  I know it’s been weeks since the ice storm and severe weather in Birmingham, but as I sat back yesterday trying to figure out how I got so behind, it dawned on me that my setback tracked all the way back to the 3 weeks of weather roller coaster.

I had homework to catch up on because from days out of school.  My work life had gotten off kilter. Until last week, my blog posts had been daily, but suddenly they were sporadic and I can’t have that, especially since I’ve been told how much that have helped to inspire others. Afterall, that’s why I write Renew Refresh Reset Your Life daily post.

Getting to Center From Here

I’m still not caught up yet, but now that I am fully aware of what caused the setback and what all I have to do to get caught up, I’ve simply devised a plan of action.  My blog post are a high priority, so come Monday, I’ll be posting 5 days a week again.  Now that I think about it, if I had not let that get behind, it probably would have served as my own motivation to get caught up in the first place, but I digress.

How do you get back to center?  When you find yourself being pulled on all sides, it’s a clear side that something is amiss.  Take time to analyze what happened and what you can do to get back to a life of sanity.  You’ll easily find that some things are not so important after all can be put on the back burner for a time, maybe even indefinitely.  Make a list of what MUST be done and what you would like to do.  The MUST list of course takes priority followed by the your would like to list.  Set a timeline for completing those task and you’ll be back on track before you know it.

As for me, it’s back to business as usual and I’m fast tracking it to my regularly scheduled program.
